Restrictions when extending the cable length with mixing following cables; standard, JKPEV-S, robotic, semi-heat-resistant robotic, and heat-resistant robotic
When extending the cable connecting the converter to the sensor, a standard cable (S) or JKPEV-S cable is used at the fixed area, and a robotic cable (RBT), semi-heat-resistant robotic cable(URT), or heat-resistant robotic cable (HRT) is used at the movable area.
In cases such as this, where both cable types are used in the extension, the maximum cable length is shorter than when using a standard cable only.
Therefore, be sure that the length is within the prescribed range.
If the prescribed length is exceeded, abnormal operation may occur. The required robotic cable length should be determined first, then calculate the maximum standard cable extension length using the method shown here.
(1) Refer to the information about your converter or controller to find specifications for the longest allowable extended sensor cable length for each cable type (the allowable length varies depending on the converter and sensor combination).

b. Maximum robotic cable extension length:L2 (m)
(2) The robotic cable length (Lr) should be determined with reference to the drawing, and by measuring, etc.
Be sure that the "b (L2)" length given above is not exceeded.
(3) The maximum standard cable extension length (Ls) can be calculated using the formula shown below.
